While we are on the topic we are hearing a lot about sustainable seafood these days in restaurants. The Monterey Bay Aquarium offers a series of down loadable pocket guides, lists and iphone apps of seafood that should be avoided. Great news, Haddock is now off the endangered list.

You can find the lists and apps here.

According to their website the aquarium is working with Whole Foods to create a sustainability-rating program for its seafood section.

Chef and seafood activist Rick Moonen follows a sustainable model at his restaurant.
